The new external battery charger has a green led charging indicator. We are looking at options to show the charge status of the battery status while its being charged in-unit.

Battery charging light under the 12v cover
In my opinion, an LED under the 12v socket cover (or on the charging unit) to show when the iSTAR is charging and when it is fully charged would give a better indication of the charging process than having to switch on the iSTAR to see how charging is progressing.

Andy, as per my comments for the on/ off switch...a small dual purpose LED light could be incorporated in the case above the charging port.
A software option could enable / disable it illuminating if required but ideally placed to show status of images being taken and / or battery charging status when unit not in use.
