what is the photosphere average size

While I understand that an photosphere image size is dependent on the ISO setting chosen I am still wondering what is an average size of a photosphere in megabites? I am still waiting for my camera but want to prepare and buy some SD cards and want to know some sizes. Thank you.

The answer depends which product you are referring to.

For iris360 it's about 3Mb for an HDR On image. For iSTAR it's about 4Mb

BTW - the size of the pano in MB isn't dependant on ISO (although noise in the image will have a slight impact) it's the resolution of the image in pixels that has the biggest effect and if you are processing in Immersive Studio the option to enable or disable compression also affects file size in Mb.

Sorry, was thinking of iris360 and not sure what the immersive studio is. Is that the default stitching software the camera is using? Do I have options to use something else? Did not find step by step tutorials or training videos how to best use iris360

Second say I disable compression in immersive studio and elect a higher resolution image. Would the entire photosphere still be about 3Mb? Thank you.

Yes that's the desktop software you can use instead of processing only on the unit. It's much faster.

you can use anything you want to stitch the date from iris360 but whichever 3rd party app you use, you are first going to have to use Immersive Studio to export the fisheye images from our RAW file format.

The photosphere will be around 14Mb if you disable compression with an 8000 x 4000px image.

Thank you very much for your answers thus far. It surely helps me understand the process in order to be more effective.  If you don't mind I'd like to recap to make sure I fully understand.

While the camera is capable of doing the processing (stitching) by itself after photos are taken, we have the option to first take all the photo shots then perform the processing on the laptop and create all photospheres and either present them to the client in the micro/sd format or also upload them to Google Street View.  While you did say it is faster to be done on a computer/tablet and not on the camera itself - what are other benefits?

When can the upload to Google Street View can take place?  Can the camera do that as well? - and what if the business does not have a business page to tie it into?  Could you please expand on that.

I would like if possible to give me a few scenario of steps perfomed:
-photo shoot
-processing
-face blurring if any
-upload into GSV
-Google Biz Page (needed or not)

What about the people face blurring?  Do we have to do that before uploading to Google? And is that a feature on the camera or only on laptop with immersive studio?

Is immersive studio also the software used by the camera itself for processing?

I watched the https://vimeo.com/58880632 Immersive Studio video instruction which is very helpful but it was related to the iStar camera and not the Iris360. It spoke about various exposures being taken. Does Iris also have that capability of taking say indoor/outdoor multiple exposures then process them accordingly for a best sphere image results?

I know this is a loaded inquiry and I thank you in advance. If there are any other instructional videos please let me know since I'd like to learn and be ready to hit the ground running as soon as I receive the camera. Many thanks.

To answer your questions:

    Answer: Saves battery charge

  2. When can the upload to Google Street View can take place?  Can the camera do that as well? - and what if the business does not have a business page to tie it into?  Could you please expand on that.

Answer: either via the Google Street view editor or voa the Google Street View App. yes the camera can do that, via the Street View App. If the business does not have their own business page to tie into then you can't do it. that has to be there first.

  3. I would like if possible to give me a few scenario of steps perfomed...

Answer: Please see advice on uploading to GSV here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcRbp4LqBpwHico5K8lliuf9j4-FyFl6S

  4. What about the people face blurring?  Do we have to do that before uploading to Google? And is that a feature on the camera or only on laptop with immersive studio?

answer: Either on the laptop using the Google Street View editor (see video tutorials above) or via the Street View App: https://support.google.com/maps/answer/7011973?hl=en&ref_topic=6275604

  5. Is immersive studio also the software used by the camera itself for processing?

    Answer: In effect, yes.
